Mindfulness

Mind­ful­ness was the watch­word of the day today — as it is every­day.  But today, I did a webi­nar on trad­ing psy­chol­ogy and fear at Big Mike’s Trad­ing Forum.  Although the webi­nar was for his “elite” mem­bers, the open forum is quite good.  You can check out the pub­lic forum here: Big Mike Trad­ing Forum

Mind­ful­ness is also the day’s watch­word because the Dai­lyFX web­site pub­lished an arti­cle I wrote on mind­ful­ness.  Here is a brief exerpt:

New sci­en­tific research shows mind­ful­ness prac­tice can actu­ally alter brain struc­ture. Researchers stud­ied the brain’s gray mat­ter to see whether or not it changed after prac­tic­ing mind­ful­ness. Those who prac­ticed mind­ful­ness for just 30 min­utes a day over 8 weeks had sig­nif­i­cant changes in the hip­pocam­pus and amyg­dala regions of the brain. These are the brain areas involved in learn­ing and mem­ory, emo­tional reg­u­la­tion, and per­spec­tive taking.

This is the first time research has shown phys­i­cal brain changes due to mind­ful­ness practice …
